{"id":143,"date":"2011-07-03T00:07:01","date_gmt":"2011-07-03T05:07:01","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/puzzle-peace.com\/?p=143"},"modified":"2014-09-10T22:16:12","modified_gmt":"2014-09-11T03:16:12","slug":"my-parents-at-peace","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/puzzle-peace.com\/?p=143","title":{"rendered":"My Parents At Peace"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>My parents are both finally at peace.\u00a0 I am sitting under a tree at the South Cemetery in Moosomin a few feet from my parent\u2019s final resting place.\u00a0 This is the closest I have ever been to having them together in my lifetime.\u00a0\u00a0 And even though it has to be in a cemetery, I\u2019ll take it.\u00a0 Just knowing that they are together in any way is wonderful to me.\u00a0 I do also know that they are together in heaven.\u00a0\u00a0 But this physical representation of them together is a little easier for my little human brain to comprehend.\u00a0 This is such a peaceful place for them.\u00a0 The neighbors seem to be pretty quiet.\u00a0 There are a lot of birds chirping and a few squirrels running around.\u00a0 My Dad has a beautiful yet simple black granite memorial and you can tell that he has been here awhile.\u00a0 His spot looks quite comfortable.\u00a0 My Mom has just a small marker close to the ground with her name on it and the bare dirt.\u00a0 We are hoping to have a matching stone made for her soon.\u00a0 I\u2019m sure her spot will settle in just fine over time.<\/p>\n<p>There is no doubt that this is where my Mom belongs.\u00a0 I had heard her talk about the plot beside my Dad several times growing up and in the last few years; she wanted to be buried next to my Dad.\u00a0 My sister and I had discussed that we wanted to fulfill her wish and had spoken with my Mom\u2019s family members to let them know of our plans; knowing that they would support us.\u00a0 And then when it came time to make funeral plans with Mom she said that she no longer wanted to be buried out here.\u00a0 It would be too much trouble and might cost too much.\u00a0 Well, we quickly told her that we knew how she felt about this and that it wouldn\u2019t be any trouble and the cost was not any of her concern.\u00a0 She had enough worries, leave this to us.\u00a0 She didn\u2019t argue any further.\u00a0 And it wasn\u2019t any trouble at all.\u00a0 The funeral director who had known my Mom for almost 30 years considered it an honor to drive her here himself.<\/p>\n<p>Moosomin had become my Mom\u2019s town.\u00a0 She had left the town but part of her heart was left behind.\u00a0 When you move 6 or 7 hours to another country, get married, plan and start a family, start renovating a home and meet friends your heart has no choice but to stay behind.\u00a0 She thought she would most likely be living here the rest of her life.\u00a0 She was settling in and enjoying herself.\u00a0 She loved her neighbors and she loved the farm.\u00a0 So, when she left it wasn\u2019t of her choosing.\u00a0 It was a necessity of her new reality.\u00a0 She felt she needed to be closer to her family and the memories were just too painful.\u00a0 But we came back several times a year even after we moved away.\u00a0 She did her best to keep up with family and friends but with some the memories were just too painful.\u00a0 Her dream, her future as she had known it was gone.\u00a0 But Moosomin kept a piece of her heart.\u00a0 And now her body has finally joined her heart.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>My parents are both finally at peace.\u00a0 I am sitting under a tree at the South Cemetery in Moosomin a few feet from my parent\u2019s final resting place.\u00a0 This is the closest I have ever been to having them together &hellip;
